Influences

An artist, composer, arranger, or producer who has influenced me, is demonstrated by making more than a momentary impression or buying just one record.

It's A Mother - Mother Popcorn - James Brown

It's A Mother - Mother Popcorn - James Brown: One of my earliest JB albums

My definition of musical influence is exhibited by triggering a number of events:

  • Exploring the history of the artist or song.
  • Exploring the history of the band members.
  • The desire to play and replay a song or CD, over time.
  • Buying more music of that artist.
  • Attending concerts of that performer.
  • View and/or buying video performances.
  • Seeking other arrangements and performances of a particular song.
  • Finding timeless enjoyment from songs.

These are my curiosities and passions. No doubt you see yourself in some items from this list.

With the vast resources of the internet, it has become much easier to delve into the history of almost anything. While this site is my personal musical jigsaw puzzle, hopefully, it will open a few doors for you, too.
