Family Stone Xperience bolsters rhythm section
A major factor in the performance success of the Family Stone xPerience in their recent Las Vegas appearances at the Orleans Hotel & Casino was evolution of its rhythm section.
Lead Vocalist and Musical Director, Fred Ross, hired former Sly & The Family Stone, bassist, Rustee Allen to fortify the authentic Family Stone xPerience sound. Allen had performed with Sly for seven years.
As well, Charlie Spikes now fills the Family Stone xPerience chair for lead and rhythm guitar. Ironically, Spikes had succeeded Bruce Conte last year in the same capacity for 
Tower of Power.
While that may not have been the ideal fit for Spikes, he is absolutely in the pocket with the Family Stone xPerience. His gritty rhythm licks and stinging lead guitar clearly round out the rhythm section.
Family Stone xPerience recorded two of their live performances at the Orleans, and are currently reviewing the tracks to begin the processing of touching up, mixing and mastering.
