Las Vegans release Obama Anthem for Change: “A New Today”
An unlikely duo, former Bay City Rollers member, Duncan Faure, and Las Vegas vocalist, Jessica Marciel, have paired to produce and release “A New Today.” The anthem is a soulful recasting of a song penned by Faure, years ago, with updated lyrics inspired by the call for change by presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama.
Marciel and Faure were introduced by a mutual friend, just a few months ago, and found common ground, both musically and politically. Marciel is a singer, bandleader and singing coach who has managed to find the time to become a Precinct Captain for the Obama campaign in Las Vegas. Jessica’s involvement in the Nevada Obama campaign is chronicled the Obama Blog.
Faure, born in South Africa, established residence in Las Vegas within the last year, and is currently touring with the band, Back Beat.
