Braggs teases Tower of Power Reunion at The Fillmore

The FillmoreAugust 13th, 2008, will mark the official 40th Anniversary of Tower of Power. Conveniently enough, the band will be performing at the San Mateo County Fair, one of its regular show locations for more than two decades.

However, at shows in Las Vegas, lead singer Larry Braggs teased that something more is in store at the band’s October 18th appearance at The Fillmore (San Francisco).

Rumor has it that Tower of Power is considering inviting alumni members from its classic lineup (1973) to participate in the show that evening. The six alumni are: Lenny Williams, Bruce Conte, Chester Thompson, Lenny Pickett, Mic Gillette and Greg Adams. Conte recently rejoined the band for a stint of just over one year. All six alumni are active musicians.

Availability is always an issue for such an event, and, again, this is still speculation at this point; however, the thought of seeing and hearing the band’s classic lineup for a concert is quite an exciting possibility.
