Tower of Power launches its Fifth Decade

Sunday, August 17th, 2008 @ 3:37 pm | Concerts & Festivals, Milestones, Tower of Power at 40

Wednesday, August 13th marked the precise 40th Anniversary for Tower of Power. It was befitting that the band was scheduled on San Francisco Bay Area ‘home turf’ at the San Mateo County Fair.

Fans who turned out for this show were treated to special appearance by Tower of Power alumni, Mic Gillette, Lenny Pickett, Bruce Conte, and Chester Thompson.

This is only the beginning. The band is having a full-on celebration at The Fillmore (San Francisco) on October 18th. If San Mateo was the warm up. One can only guess what the fireworks will be in October.
