Saturday, August 16th was night #2 of the grand experiment: Late night at the Bootlegger, Las Vegas with Herman Matthews & Friends (’The Tom Jones Band, without Tom’).

Let’s just say I arrived, with Jessica, 5 minutes to show time (after watching Olympic swimming), and there was barely a seat available in the main room. Within minutes, it was standing-room-only.

The room was rockin’ for two solid sets. During the second set, Herman announced that the band had been invited back during their next visit to Las Vegas. That will be the first two Saturday nights in November, the 1st and 8th.
